This week we chat to Dan & Luke, cofounders of Concrete Swell
& their Munsterkids Henry & Parker.
Both being in the travel industry for over 20 years the last few years has thrown them some pivots. We chat about how their love for travel, adventure and family life never dwindled & was the inspiration for their newest venture of curated unique pieces for your home at Concrete Swell.
Tell us of your Adventures of late
The last 2 years of our international travel plans were scrapped so we made the most of this amazing state & explored places we have never been. Lots of road trips up and down the coast, surfing at new breaks and exploring the snowy mountains. The Australian coastline is absolutely beautiful - but we are hanging to go abroad visit friends, family and new places.
What has kept you grounded through the last few years of chaos and uncertainty?
It’s no secret that the airline and travel industry has been hit the hardest due to Covid. Life as we knew it completely came to a halt. We were in Indonesia when everything was shutting down and I’ll never forget that feeling of such uncertainty on that flight home. We came home to isolation, home schooling and no work.
We just dealt with each day as it came. Looking back over the past 2 years We are so grateful that we got to spend nearly every day with the boys, it’s time that we will never get back with them. As unstable as the world was with Covid we definitely made the most of family time together. We were grounded together and that is what got us through.
The ocean, the coast, travel, finding new places on our journeys, food, coffee and living in the best place on earth, Cronulla. We always try to remind the boys how lucky they are to live where they live, not only in Cronulla but Australia.
Most of all we want them to have fun and give everything a go.
“ Its simple keep your hair long and party like you just don’t care "
Henry
“Surfing and getting the ocean makes me feel alive”
